The GRADskills Research Student Skills Development Fund provides support for research postgraduate students to attend external or online workshops or courses that provide transferable skills development that will benefit you in a wide range of future careers, eg communication skills, outreach, digital literacy, statistics, working with the media, etc. You may also be able to get support for attending workshops on using software packages such as QGIS or NVivo, if you can explain how that would be valuable after your degree.

PGR students can apply for up to £150 each academic year toward the cost of such courses. Note that this fund cannot be used to attend conferences or networking events.

Applications can be submitted at any time, but the fund will close for this academic year on 1st June.

Please be sure to read all of the guidance on the Research Student Skills Development Fund page before making your application. If you are unsure as to whether a course would be eligible, please email [email protected]
