The Centre for Educational Enhancement and Development (CEED) runs a series of workshops that are mandatory for new postgraduate teachers, covering some of the basic principles of teaching and assessment, but also St Andrews-specific policies and procedures. These workshops can therefore be helpful for new academic and education-focussed staff who are not yet familiar with the St Andrews context.

There are three workshops that each run on three different occasions, so that staff have a variety of dates/times to choose from. Where there are faculty-specific and cross-faculty versions of the same workshop, the core ideas presented are the same, but the specific examples used will vary. As such, you are welcome to attend the workshops for any faculty. The Student Services workshop is highly recommended for all teaching staff, regardless of experience.

  1. Teaching at St Andrews: an introduction (1.5 hours) – 26th August, 7th September, 9th September
  2. Assessment and academic misconduct: an introduction – (1.5 hours) – 27th August, 8th September, 10th September
  3. Student Services: supporting students and teachers – (1 hour) – 26th August, 7th September, 9th September
