Using the University Libraries Inter Library Loans service
If you need something that isn’t available from Library search, all University staff and students can make an Inter Library Loan request. Your University Libraries staff will then contact other libraries to source that item for you. The item you request may be emailed directly to you, or if it is a physical item, you can collect it from the Main Library hold shelf, or ask at the Service Desk in the Main Library for restricted items.
There are charges associated with Inter Library Loans: if you would like to renew an item, this will cost £4 and if you do not collect an item that has been ordered for you, you will be charged £10. All overdue Inter Library Loans are charged at £1 per day. Undergraduates and Postgraduate Taught students have a set number of free requests; full details are available on our guide.
