Following on from the hugely popular Creative Writing workshops in Semester 1, CEED is thrilled to announce that the Creative Writing Workshops will return in Semester 2 for undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from ALL Schools. If interested, please sign up via PDMS here. Bookings go live on the 19th January 2022 and spaces will fill up quickly. If you have any questions, please email ceedwriting@.

This series of six creative writing workshops is aimed at undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from all Schools. The workshops encourage students to explore the craft of writing through close reading of literary texts as well as writing exercises, giving them the opportunity to build creative skills and practice a range of writing techniques. Covering some of the main elements of creative writing – such as point of view, endings and structure– the sessions are designed as a series, giving new writers (as well as those with some experience) the opportunity to hone their analytical skills, build confidence, and develop their writing craft. The hour-long workshops will be capped at seventeen students and will be delivered via Teams.

Please note:

  • Honours students from the School of English should sign up for the ASP Creative Writing Workshops specifically aimed at their cohort as these are tailored to their needs.
  • The workshops are designed as a series and students are strongly encouraged to sign up for all six workshops.
