Join the Development Team as a Telephone Fundraiser (10 January deadline)

Development are looking for enthusiastic students to chat with alumni and parents about the impactful fundraising projects at the University that directly affect the student community, such as Wardlaw Scholarships, Mental Health and Wellbeing and more. The role will be an exciting hands-on work experience for you gaining valuable professional skills, while connecting with the St Andrews community worldwide and meeting other students who also want to make a difference.

We are looking for diversity in our calling team; from all year groups/subjects, backgrounds and cultures with excellent communication skills and a friendly, enthusiastic telephone manner.

Calling Dates: Monday 7th February to Sunday 13th March 2022 (no calling from 21st-27th February, 27th inclusive)

Training Dates: Saturday and Sunday 5th & 6th February 2022 (via Teams, both days & compulsory)

Salary in the region of: Basic and training rate: £9.50 per hour; After 10pm £10.41 per hour; After midnight £10.93 per hour (subject to confirmation at point of campaign starting)

Calling will take place remotely to adhere to the government’s Covid-19 safety guidelines. Some practical points (please see the application for more details):

  • Must be residing in the UK (term time residence, including University Halls of Residence and private accommodations or your own home) during the phone campaign dates (5th February – 13th March 2022)
  • Must have a private space/room (your own sole use) to speak securely and confidentially and that there will not be unreasonable interruptions during your working shifts
  • Must have a working desktop/laptop, a smart phone, and WiFi as the campaign will take place off-site (working remotely) to adhere to the government’s Covid-19 safety guidelines
