This study is being conducted as part of my, Annie Wilkins’, Honours Degree in The School of Psychology & Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews (ethics approval code PS15773).

You are invited to participate in a research project where you will play two simple melodies on the piano, and perform a typing task on a computer. You will also engage in a stimulus response task on the computer, and heart rate will be monitored using a pulse oximeter at various points. Questionnaires will collect information about your musical experience and severity of music performance anxiety. This study will take place in a lab in The School of Psychology & Neuroscience in St Andrews at your convenience. Participants will be rewarded £5 for their time. Participation should take approximately half an hour. Participants must be 18 or over, have at least a basic level of piano experience (i.e. Grade 1 ABRSM) and the ability to sight-read a simple melody.
