Participants wanted: Experiments run by the School of Economics and Finance

Miguel Costa-Gomes
Monday 7 February 2022

If you are on campus this term here is an opportunity to earn some money and participate in something fun.

We are looking for people to participate in economics experiments that will take place throughout this term.

Participants in economics experiments are asked to make decisions in varied choice scenarios. They get a monetary reward for doing so. The average overall compensation is competitive: there is a show-up fee plus extra pay that depends on the decisions you make and chance. One of the economics experiments currently run on campus pays an extremely competitive average rate.

Most experiments take up to 2 hours.

Economics experiments use no deception and no physical stress of any kind. Your identity is kept confidential from other participants, and no personal information about you is shared with anyone else.

We would thus like to encourage you register to participate in our economics experiments. To obtain more information and to register, please go to:

https://portal.st-andrews.ac.uk/orsee/internal/public/

To register you need to click on “register” and enter your St Andrews e-mail address, namely the abbreviated version of your e-mail address which typically has your initials (e.g.,  mcg5@) rather than the full name e-mail address (e.g., miguel.costa-gomes@)

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email. After this, you will receive invitation emails for this term’s experiments. You may participate in as many or as few experiments as you like, and you may cancel your registration at any time.

Thank you very much for your participation.
