Abstract

Participants will be asked to first complete a questionnaire regarding their exposure to alcohol and blackouts, and background details. Data collected are anonymous. Participants then take part in 3 online behavioural tasks and 2 neural tasks. The study will take place at the School of Psychology & Neuroscience, St Mary’s Quad, South Street (estimated time length of the whole study: 60 minutes). Participants will get a chance to win one of three £20 vouchers.

You are eligible to join if you are an abstinent/very occasional drinker (criteria: never had a blackout and have not consumed alcohol in the past 2 weeks), OR a drinker who have suffered at least one alcohol-induced blackout since the start of their first semester at university (if you’re a fresher), or within the past 12 months (if you’re a final year).
