Do you want to develop an idea to support the Sustainable Development Goals? Or do you have a unique solution to a global problem?

Share your winning idea in the World’s Challenge Challenge

The World’s Challenge Challenge asks student participants to think big and come up with an idea to make our world a better place. To participate in the Challenge, students form interdisciplinary teams of two to four members, develop and pitch a solution with a global impact that addresses one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.  The top prize is $30,000 CAD (around £17,400 as of February 2022). Prizes of $15,000 and $7,500 CAD are also available.

The University of St Andrews will select one student team to represent the University at the annual World’s Challenge Challenge Global Final 6-9 June 2022, hosted by Western University. This year’s final will be held online. As well as the presentation of ideas, the finals contain networking opportunities and social entreprise activities.

“If you embrace a global vision, your talents and creative minds hold the potential and the power to solve [enormous world challenges] and improve the human condition right across our global village.”    Amit Chakma, President, Western University

With so many issues and challenges ahead, we need the collective efforts of many – from across the globe and across different disciplines – to create solutions that can work. Come and be part of the World’s Challenge Challenge and become a global leader!
