HR Policy Update
Dear Staff,
I would like to make you aware of updates to the existing Disciplinary Policy and the introduction of a new Investigation Procedure. Both are supported by a comprehensive web page, providing a list of FAQs and supporting documentation to ensure all relevant information can be accessed easily by line managers and staff. The policies and links to the web-pages are below:
Investigation Procedure: This is a new document that confirms the procedure to be followed by Investigation Managers, from instigating an investigation and appointment of an Investigation Manager through to concluding an investigation report.
Discipline Policy: The policy has been updated as follows:
- New guidance developed for witnesses who are requested to attend an investigation meeting or disciplinary hearing, and a change to procedure on how to call witnesses to a hearing.
- Updated list of misconduct/gross misconduct examples.
- Tweaks to the composition of the discipline/appeal panel.
- It is no longer mandatory in all cases for the investigation manager/Chair of Discipline Panel to attend the discipline/appeal hearing. In some cases, the investigation report/disciplinary outcome letter will be sufficient.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your HRBP.
With many thanks,
Lisa Stewart
