Sarah Pollock
Wednesday 9 November 2022
  • What is innovation and how can it be applied to research projects?
  • Universities are hot beds of innovation but how do you engage with external organisations?
  • What skills do you need to develop in order to build a company of your own?
  • Where do you find funding to kickstart your idea?

This online workshop on Tuesday 15th November, 13.00-16.00 will introduce researchers to business fundamentals and give an overview of university entrepreneurship using examples. We will analyse and discuss a case study of a business that is trying to scale but is faced with considerable challenges. We will also cover the various aspects of the commercialisation process and discuss a range of tools that you can use to assess your own business idea. The workshop will include short presentations by the instructor, discussions, group work, case studies and examples from the instructor’s own experience.
