Volunteer Researchers with PVG Needed!

I am looking for 2-3 volunteer research assistants to assist a task on my doctoral research project.

The Project

The doctoral research project that this relates to is investigating the impact of covid-19 on the psychological and cognitive wellbeing of older people living in the U.K.

The Role: 1c – Participant Consent Forms

This role is the “1c – Participant Consent Form” position. A number of participants have signed up to join this research project, however they need to complete a consent form over the phone before taking part. Due to the number of participants, I am recruiting volunteer researchers to help contact older people who have signed up, and complete consent forms with them over the phone.

As the volunteer research assistant, you will call participants, discuss the research project, then audio-record the consent form to your computer. You will then upload the consent form and audio recording to the project’s SharePoint drive and update the participant spreadsheet with the participants information.

You will receive full training on what to do and and ongoing support is provided.

Time Commitment

The start date for this role is ASAP. The role is expected to continue to 28/02/2023. The successful volunteer researchers will most likely need to allocate between 1-2 hours per week during ‘office hours’ (9am – 5pm Monday to Friday) to volunteer on the project.

Requirements

Due to the nature of this volunteer position (working with vulnerable adults) you must be in either 3rd or 4th year to take part. You must also be a current member of the PVG Scheme.

Benefits

This is a straightforward role which is flexible around student schedules. This role is ideal for 3rd and 4th year students who would like to start building experience on their CV and could lead to further research assistant opportunities on this doctoral research project, over the next two academic years (2023-2024).
