In semester 2 CEED’s Head of Learning Technology, Margaret Adamson, will be leading a 15-credit Masters module entitled Exploring Learning and Teaching Online. Staff and research postgraduate students who teach are welcome to enrol on this as a standalone professional development opportunity (it is also an elective option for participants on the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice). Expressions of interest are welcome until 9th January; you do not have to have previous experience of online teaching to enrol.
Enrolment Criteria

  • To enrol, staff and PGR students must be teaching concurrently or have taught in the previous semester. (This can be in-person or online teaching)
  • To enrol you must have the permission of your line manager (for staff) or supervisor (for PGRs).

Module Description

This module is designed to support teaching staff who wish to further their understanding of and engagement with the use of technologies to enhance learning and teaching. Participants will take a step back from the delivery of online teaching and develop a personal philosophy of teaching online through examination of a variety of different stakeholder perspectives. It will also provide them with the skills they need to critically evaluate technologies and integrate them appropriately into their practice. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their curriculum and teaching practices through five lenses: the Teacher, the Learner, the Institution, the Sector and the Legalities.

Request a place on ID5108 Exploring Learning and Teaching Online – deadline for applications is 9 January 2023. Read more about delivery format and class dates (in the section on Electives)

Please direct any queries about the module to Margaret Adamson (mhma@).
