Following on from last semesters’ classes on writing poetry, CEED is offering another set of poetry workshops.

Rather than ‘classes’, the format this semester will be different.  The workshops will provide a supportive space in which to share original poems to the group for honest and constructive feedback. This tried-and-tested method is ideal for new poets who want to learn and develop their own approaches to writing poetry: a space to experiment, explore and express yourself.  Sessions will run weekly to begin with through Teams and can be booked on PDMS (search Creative Writing).  Current available dates are:

If you missed Semester 1’s series on writing poetry, then don’t worry!  You can access a ‘companion’ to these workshops, including recordings from the sessions and structured writing exercises in the CEED All Schools Creative Writing Team.

A separate workshop will run for students of English Literature: the CEED workshops are intended for poets who are studying other subjects.

Brief Bio
The workshops will be led by Colin Bramwell.  Colin is a poet, performer, translator and musician from the Black Isle. His work has appeared in PN Review, Poetry Scotland, and Gutter; a debut pamphlet, The Highland Citizenship Test, was published by Stewed Rhubarb last year. His first, as-yet unpublished collection came second in the 2020 Edwin Morgan Poetry Award; his co-translations of the Taiwanese poet Yang Mu won the 2018 John Dryden Translation Competition. Colin has just submitted his doctorate in Creative Writing at St Andrews.
