Change to multi-factor authentication push notifications
If you use either Duo Mobile or Microsoft Authenticator smartphone app to verify your identity when logging into your account, the style of push notifications you receive will change this month.
Rather than a traditional approve or deny prompt, staff and students will be asked to enter numbers onto their smartphone app which will be displayed on their login screen. This method has been introduced following guidance from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in response to the rise of fraudulent MFA attempts by cybercriminals.
Dates of change:
- Tuesday 7 February for Microsoft Authenticator
- Tuesday 14 February for Duo Mobile
