Ever wondered how your physical activity level impacts your health and wellbeing? Interested in the benefits of exercise on your cognitive abilities? Fancy earning £20 to help us find out?

This Spring, as part of Sam Warne’s PhD project here at the University of St Andrews, we’re looking for a number of participants to get involved in exciting new research investigating physical activity habits, and their potential impact on physical fitness, mental wellbeing and cognitive functioning.

Of course, this is a research project, and so we are looking for participants to visit us on two occasions, a month apart, where we will be asking you to complete some short tests on each of the health aspects previously mentioned, and also provide us with some step count data. These tests include a two-minute fitness test, a two-minute mental wellbeing survey and also a cognitive functioning aspect. We’ll then be looking at these results, along with the step counts that you provide, in our investigation into the effects of activity.

But what’s in it for you? Well, alongside helping us to learn more about the effect of exercise levels on health, we’re offering £20 for those who fully complete both visits of the research! Although, space is limited, so make sure you sign up quickly!

To sign up or for more information about the project, about the Step Count Challenge or anything related to this research as a whole, please get in touch with Sam at [email protected], or if you’re signed up for the SONA system, click here!
