This study is being conducted as part of a Laidlaw summer research project in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews.

We invite you to participate in a study investigating how attention affects piano performance under pressure. You will be asked to practice a short two-part Invention of your choice by J.S. Bach over the course of about a week and then perform the piece to a small audience. The performance will take no longer than an hour. A compensation of £10 will be offered for participation.

To participate, you must have:

  • Advanced piano playing ability (level equivalent to Grade 8 or above)

Please let us know of dates that are suitable for you to participate in the study. If you are interested or have any questions, please email Lina Chi at [email protected]
