Participants wanted: What does it mean to be Jewish in the UK or Germany?

This study is being conducted as part of my (Penelope Maran) master thesis at the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews.

We invite you to participate in a research project on feelings of national and Jewish identity, social trust and experienced discrimination in two distinct Jewish populations in the UK and Germany.

You will complete an online questionnaire involving questions about demographics, migration, family experiences of the Shoah other pogroms, discrimination, social trust and national as well as Jewish identity. Completing the questionnaire will take around 15 minutes, and all the data will be completely anonymous.  

To take you must be at least 18 years old, be a UK or German national and identify as Jewish (either ethnically or religiously). We do NOT differentiate between Jews whose father or mother is Jewish, meaning we do not orient our study according to the Halachah, but rather someone’s personal identification with being Jewish/being raised in a Jewish family/with a Jewish background.
