Funding Opportunity for Scottish Applicants – MSc Health Data Science 

Scottish applicants to the Health Data Science MSc within the Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies at St Andrews are welcome to apply for two scholarships funded by the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre. This opportunity, funded partially by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and by the Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies covers full-time tuition fees for the 2023-24 session. 

Eligibility criteria is as follows: 

  • British citizen who has lived in Scotland for at least three years OR EU citizen with settled status in Scotland 
  • Starting a new course in September 2023 
  • Planning to pursue a taught MSc or MRes degree in Digital Health and Care

 Further, to be eligible for DHI funding, your MSc dissertation must align with one of the DHI’s strategic themes: 

  1. The contribution of digital health and care to Scotland’s Net Zero Targets. 
  1. How digital solutions can best support mental health and well-being. 
  1. Supported living in the community (e.g. SMART Housing, SMART communities). 
  1. Measuring the impact of digital health & care projects. 
  1. Citizen Empowerment and long-term condition management. 
  1. Healthy Ageing. 
  1. Digital Solutions as an enabler in shifting care from institutional settings into the home and/or community settings (e.g. Hospital@Home). 
  1. Digital solutions in supporting Population/Public Health early intervention and/or Emergency Planning/Prevention. 
  1. Digital skills and workforce development in health and social care.
