Join Student Think Tank! Recruiting Researchers To Take Action and Facilitate Change
The Political Institute of Action Research (Student Think Tank, Union-affiliated, Member of Scotland’s Future Series) is thrilled to be opening applications for our research teams this semester. Whether you are looking at increasing your employability attributes, have a passion for one of our research topics, or looking to hone your writing skills, we encourage you to apply.
This year, you will have 2 options to partake in research with the Political Institute:
- Option 1: Choose from either one of the three pre-determined projects listed below.
- Impact of student socio-economic background on university sporting participation
- Sustainability action at St Andrews and other universities
- Incorporation of AI in university education and assessment
- Option 2: Submit your own question along with the names of three to five others to form your own team working on your own project whilst operating under the PIAR umbrella.
If you are selected to be part of one of these teams, pre-determined or your own, you will automatically enrol in our PIAR Researcher Programme. This programme is designed to complement your research and writing processes, as well as introduce you to the world of think tanks.
- 4 specialised workshops
- taking place Thursdays at 8pm in the Union – (5, 12, 26 October and 2 November)
- consisting of 30 min presentation + 30 min dedicated research time
