Fundraising your first postdoc
For many PhD students, the next step after submitting a thesis is to secure a postdoctoral position. This workshop will explore the options, from short-term Fellowships, to a fully-funded academic position supported by charities (Leverhulme, Nuffield) or research councils, to jobs within government research or industry.
By the end of the workshop, you should be able to:
- Identify a route to your first postdoc.
- Plan your applications and CVs. [see also the ‘CV and interviewee skills’ workshops]
- Boost your skillset to make the best impression possible.
- Understand the selection processes used by assessors.
