Enterprising Mind of the Year – Applications Open
Applications for the ‘Enterprising Mind of the Year’ Award for 2023-2024 are open!
We believe that our curriculum and educators can spark incredible ideas in our students, and we aim to recognise and nurture such innovative student-led initiatives.
Enterprise and Entrepreneurial Education in collaboration with the Students’ Association and The Proctor’s Office offers the ‘Enterprising Mind of the Year’ Award for a student/student team who has/have demonstrated significant enterprise through executing a novel idea or project which was directly inspired by a taught module.
An ‘enterprising mind’ is broadly defined as creating value in the form of innovative ideas, fresh applications, adventurous methods, or thinking outside the box. This can be evidenced by work directly within a module or indirectly through related cultural, social, economic or practical activities that are closely linked to a module you have studied in the 2023-2024 academic year.
The winner will receive a £250 cash prize, the year-long status of being the University of St Andrews’ ‘Enterprising Mind of the Year’ and the award will be added to their Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) transcript.
Any innovative activity inspired by a module running in Semester 1 or Semester 2 of 2023-2024 is eligible. A successful application will demonstrate a clear and robust link to a taught module.
All Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students are eligible, as well as Postgraduate Research students who have taken a taught module in the current academic year.
The deadline for applications is 17:30 UK time on Monday 4 March 2024.
