Saints Skills Builder Award

The Saints Skills Builder Award is for all students who wish to strengthen and develop a range of skills, and have their efforts recognised on their HEAR transcript. You will be asked to analyse and reflect on your current skill level so that you can identify areas for development, using the Graduate Attributes to help you do so. You will then log 20 activities that help you to develop your skills and reflect on how these activities have helped you to achieve your goals.

Activities can be curricular (assessments, field trips, group work etc.), co-curricular (workshops run by CEED or Careers, study abroad, being a class representative etc.) or extra-curricular (volunteering, clubs/societies, work experience etc.)

The award is open ended so you can start and finish the award at a time that suits you. Activities can be carried over from previous years so you can begin developing your skills in your first year and complete it before you graduate. Achieving the award will show potential employers that you are committed to your development and will help to prepare you to talk about your skills in applications and interviews.

You can find more information on the Saints Skills Awards on our webpage (www.st-andrews.ac.uk/careers/improve-your-skills/saints-skills-awards) or via the Graduate Attributes portal (www.st-andrews.ac.uk/graduate-attributes/my-skills-award). Alternatively drop by the CEED office or email us on [email protected].
