Can you volunteer a few hours to help a new student? The 2024 mentoring scheme is now recruiting new mentors!
You are invited to become a mentor for this upcoming academic year!
Mentors will be asked to complete a very short online training and will then be matched with a mentee over the summer. Here you will answer new students’ questions such as what to pack for university and life at St Andrews.
If you become a mentor there is no requirement to stay in touch with your mentee after the start of term, and most mentors answer only 3 or 4 messages over the summer.
In the past mentees have shared they are very grateful to gain practical advice, reassurance and encouragement, while student mentors have shared they benefited from self-reflection and a sense of personal growth during the process.
