Have you ever been stumped by a strange illusion, or been sure you were going the right direction on to discover you’d got totally turned around? Our eyes are extremely important for how we understand and navigate the world, but they can be susceptible to error and ambiguity. When this happens, our perception of the world around us can change.

We invite you to participate in a research project exploring the relationship between vision and navigation. You will be asked to learn and perform a simple navigation task in a virtual enclosure with projected patterns on the walls and floor. The task will be completed with and without a blindfold.

This research will take place between Wednesday 2nd October and Friday 29th November in The Psychology Old Library, St Mary’s Quad, St Andrews. The experiment should last between 30-60 minutes, and you will be compensated £8 for your participation.

If you are interested, please email using the details below to arrange a testing slot of click the link below to sign up via SONA. You will be given a Participant Information Sheet that further details the research and have the opportunity to ask questions before consenting to participate.
