The InFrame project is now live! Funding available for research culture projects
We are pleased to announce that we have now officially launched the InFrame project which seeks to create an Inclusive Framework for collegial research leadership – and we want you to get involved!
InFrame is a £3m Wellcome Trust funded collaborative project between the Universities of St Andrews, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Over two years the project will activate our university communities to test new ideas and create new knowledge about what it means to lead research in a way that centres on collaborative working, mutual co-operation, and care for our colleagues. To enable this, we have made £1m of funding available to fund new ideas and test new ways of working.
We will be launching the Research Culture Catalyst Fund soon!
Do you have an idea for a project to look at innovative ways of working that could enable, foster, reward, or recognise collegial ways of working?
Register for the InFrame Culture Catalyst Fund Launch Event to learn more.
The call details will be available at the virtual event on the 22 October 2024. The launch event is an opportunity to ask questions and understand the aims and expectations of the funding.
The InFrame project’s Culture Catalyst Fund can provide you with access to funding for a 12+ month project starting in early 2025. Shorter projects will also be considered for funding. We will fund innovative, collaborative projects, that focus on how research is led, and the behaviours, roles, contributions, and impact of those who lead. All colleagues that do, support, manage, enable, administer, or lead research across the whole ecology of people and players, are eligible to apply for funding (all grades, roles, and job families).
We want to support creative new ideas and perspectives on leadership to emerge, to expand the recognition of all those who are leading research, to open minds as to who can lead research, and to what a ‘research leader’ is and does.
Our call will support projects that investigate:
- ‘Putting policy into practice’: changing perceptions of and engagement with existing guidance and provision related to research leadership.
- ‘Changing what counts’: exploring how leaders influence their teams to engage with components of institutional research assessment activities.
- ‘Setting the tone’: piloting activities that tackle issues of interpersonal relationship building and that demonstrate ‘leading by example’
- Any other idea related to research leadership and collegiality.
