Call for Projects – STEP 2025
Hello everyone,
I am delighted to announce that the International Education and Lifelong Learning Institute (IELLI) is seeking proposals from academic and professional services staff in Schools/Departments for the hugely popular Summer Teams Enterprise Programme (STEP) 2025.
(as a reminder, CEED has merged with IE to form IELLI this academic school year).
The Summer Teams Enterprise Programme 2025 is an opportunity for undergraduate students to invest 7 weeks in participating in a fully-online skills development programme, where they will work on a real-life project designed and supported by University staff, gain virtual team-work experience in a group of diverse students, contribute to the University’s learning and teaching through working on impactful outputs, and get this experience listed on their HEAR transcript.
If you are unfamiliar with the STEP programme, you can read more about it and see last year’s projects on the STEP website.
We are seeking staff proposals for 7-week long projects, which will run between May-August 2025, where interdisciplinary UG student teams will work together to produce an output (such as a report, survey, public engagement resource etc.) that will be of direct benefit to the School’s teaching/curriculum/research/profile. The proposed projects should be designed to help UG students develop a suite of graduate attributes.
This will also be a chance for one or more PGRs based at the School to gain highly desirable professional and research supervision skills, in their paid role as the team’s project coach.
IELLI will provide comprehensive support to all projects for admin, delivery and coordination; including recruiting and selecting students, recruiting PGR coaches, managing the online learning environment, organising training for coaches/student teams etc. In addition, a small funding will be available to all teams to purchase any additional resources.
Project proposals should be submitted through the project proposal form by 17:00 on Monday 14th April 2025. Please contact the STEP team at [email protected] for access to the form if you are interested in making a submission.
Please also feel free to write to the STEP team to informally discuss your proposal or if you have additional queries, and to get more details.
Thank you,
The STEP Team (Tilly Nevin, Stephanie Bowen, Maddy Haywood, Finley Ullom)
