Wednesday 9 April 2025

You are invited to participate in a study to investigate the neural mechanisms behind eye dominance. This study is being conducted as part of my PhD project in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews.

Participation details

  • Eligibility: You must be over 18 years old, with normal or correct-to-normal vision (contact lenses are fine, but not glasses), and are right-handed. It is important that you do not suffer from any neurological or psychiatric diseases and do not have any metal implants in your body.
  • Sessions & Compensation: In this practice session, you will complete an eye dominance task, a visual localisation accuracy task, and a saccade sensitivity task, all conducted in complete darkness. You may be invited back at a later date to complete TMS sessions, depending on availability. Compensation for this practice session is £5. However, if you choose to withdraw before completing the session or experience difficulty with the tasks, you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £10 voucher at the end of the study.
  • Location: The experiment will take place at the School of Psychology and Neuroscience (Room 1.55), University of St Andrews
