Participants Wanted: Study on Eye Dominance
You are invited to participate in a study to investigate the neural mechanisms behind eye dominance. This study is being conducted as part of my PhD project in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews.
Participation details
- Eligibility: You must be over 18 years old, with normal or correct-to-normal vision (contact lenses are fine, but not glasses), and are right-handed. It is important that you do not suffer from any neurological or psychiatric diseases and do not have any metal implants in your body.
- Sessions & Compensation: This study investigates the relationship between proprioception and eye dominance. It involves two sessions, and participants are required to complete both. During these sessions, participants will perform an eye dominance task, a visual localisation accuracy task, and a saccade sensitivity task—all conducted in complete darkness. Participants will receive £10 upon completing both sessions. If you choose to withdraw early or are unable to complete the tasks, you will instead be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win a £10 voucher at the end of the study.
- Location: The experiment will take place at the School of Psychology and Neuroscience (Room 1.55), University of St Andrews.
How to participate
If you are interested, please get in contact using the details below. You will then be given a Participant Information Sheet that further details the research, and can ask questions, before being asked whether you consent to participate.
