The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides research grants to PhD students and early post-docs (within 4 years after completing PhD), who wish to research at an German university or research institute. DAAD offers €1400 per month, insurance cover and a travel allowance. Under certain circumstances, rent subsidy, family allowance and research allowances can also be requested.

PhD students can receive a grant for 2-12 months, and post-docs can receive funding for 2-6 months.

The deadline is 1 September.

St Andrews has a strategic partnership with the University of Bonn, and undergraduate exchanges with Heidelberg, Hamburg, Köln and Tübingen. Please let the Global Office know if you are selected.
