Below are the directed instructions that will ensure full completion of the programme and allow teaching:
Essentials to complete the ‘Essentials courses for postgraduates who teach’
- Request a place on the programme: book here
- Asynchronous requirements: Complete the self-directed component Diversity training prior to attending the synchronous components. (Please scroll to the ‘Diversity in the workplace’ tab for information on how to access the training).
- Synchronous requirements:Complete three live components at the start of the semester you are needed to teach by booking and then attending one live training from each area: Assessment, Student Support, and Teaching.
Important: Synchronous events must be attended live. Please plan accordingly. Viewing a recording is not considered the equivalent of attending the live trainings and will not satisfy the mandatory requirement.
__________________________
If you hope to teach this upcoming term and are not sure if you have completed the requirements, then please log into your PDMS training record to check. (A green tick indicates you have completed a requirement; a red X means it had not been completed.) If there are live courses that you still need to complete, request a place on the appropriate course using the booking links listed below (these are also available via the programme link above).
Please note, booking closes the day before, but you may email [email protected] with last minute enquiries about booking or for general questions about the programme.
Please be aware, you are only required to attend one live session of each component. For example, Teaching at cross-faculty, Assessment cross-faculty and Student Services. You do not need to attend all 3 Teaching courses and all 3 Assessment courses.
__________________________
Lastly, if you do not intend to teach this upcoming term, please wait to complete the courses until the semester you plan to teach. If you plan to teach in semester 2, please wait to complete your required training in semester 2.
If you have any questions, please email teachingdev@.
