Volunteer Research Assistants Needed: Data collection
Hi, I’m a second-year PhD student, and I’m looking for two research assistants to help with my first experiment: Exploring the Relationship Between Attachment Styles, Features of Autobiographical Memory, and Low Mood in Children and Adolescents
About the Experiment:
This study explores the connections between memory, mood, and attachment. We aim to understand how different attachment styles influence how children and adolescents (ages 9–16) recall past events (autobiographical memory) and how this relates to feelings of low mood. The experiment will be conducted online, with researchers independently running two 40-minute sessions with participants via Microsoft Teams. The experiment is ongoing, and researchers are expected to be busier between August and December 2025.
What You’ll Gain:
- Experience working with children and adolescents (ages 9–16) in memory research.
- Hands-on practice in running psychology experiments and data coding.
- Full instruction on how to interact with participants and conduct the experimental tasks. There will be guidance throughout.
What We’re Looking For:
- Patience and enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents.
- Good time management and organization skills – experiment times are flexible, depending on participant bookings. If you’re busy, you won’t be assigned sessions, but we hope you’ll be available to conduct the experiment when possible.
- Ability to communicate with children.
- As this role involves working with children and adolescents, all volunteers must have a valid PVG. You can still apply for the role without one, but you must be willing to obtain a valid PVG before starting.
