Join Our Learning & Writing Centre Tutor Team
(Part of the International Education & Lifelong Learning Institute)
Role: Academic & Study Skills Tutor
Hours: Up to 6 per week (variable)
Pay: University tutor rate
We’re looking for postgraduate research (PhD) students to join our friendly tutor team at the Learning and Writing Centre.
You’ll work mainly 1:1 with undergraduates and taught postgraduates, helping them master essential academic skills:
• Essay research & planning
• Note making & time management
• Lab reports
• Citing & referencing
• Revision techniques
• Reading for comprehension
At your discretion, you may also support fellow PhD students with research management strategies and time management. There may also be opportunities to deliver academic skills workshops.
What we’re looking for:
• Ideally, some tutoring experience (training provided)
• Patient, approachable, and supportive
• Able to work with a wide range of students
• Committed to fostering confident, independent learners
Requirements:
• Must have completed essential postgraduate teaching training, or be willing to register at the next opportunity.
