Umeå Marine Sciences Centre Residential Advanced Courses (15 October)

If you are a postgraduate or postdoc interested in the Arctic, Umeå Marine Sciences Centre in Northern Sweden are offering 2 x 1-week courses in February 2026: 

  • Arctic marine biology, ecology & biogeochemistry: One-week residential course on Arctic marine and coastal biology, ecology and biogeochemistry, with a focus on coastal and open water Arctic marine environments, their ecology and biogeochemistry and fate in a changing world. Fee (£675 roughly) includes accommodation, activities, transfers and meals.
  • R course for marine scientists: One-week residential course for using R in marine science, with a focus on the Arctic, sub-Arctic and extreme environments. You will learn base R functions and data manipulation along with statistical analyses (basic statistics, multivariate, linear and nonlinear modelling) for marine biology, ecology and biogeochemistry! Fees as above.
