British Council English Language Assistantships 2026-2027 (28 January 2025)
Applications are open for British Council Language Assistant positions in 2026-2027. The British Council offer the opportunity to teach English overseas on a paid six-month or one-year placement working as a Language Assistant. Applicants must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years within the last 10 years.
Placements are available in Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada (Quebec), France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
Teaching time is limited to between 12 and 20 hours a week, giving you plenty of time to experience the country, learn languages and pursue other interests. It is ideal to explore a country and a teaching career, without undertaking teacher training.
A webinar will be held on 10 December at 1600. The deadline for applications is 28 January 2026.
