St Gallen Symposium Essay Competition webinars (21-29 Jan)

The St Gallen Symposium hosts a Global Essay Competition, open to postgraduates born in 1996 or later. The top 100 participants will be invited to an all-expenses-paid week in Switzerland and have the chance to compete for a prize pool of 20,000 CHF (£18,865). They will attend the St Gallen Symposium from 6-7 May 2026, a meeting for the leaders of today and tomorrow from business, politics, science and civil society. The Symposium is organised by the International Students’ Committee (ISC), an independent student initiative at the University of St. Gallen.

The essay question is: “Disruption in Tech+Politics+Demography: What happens when they collide?” Further details are here and the deadline is 1 February 2026.

  • Past winners (Africa) webinar: 21 January, 1200-1300 GMT
  • Elevate your academic writing webinar: 27 January, 1300-1430 GMT
  • Final Q&A webinar: 29 January, 1300-1430 GMT
