The Roman Society offers a funded two‑week summer placement for UK university students to join the British School at Rome and University of London excavations at Falerii Novi. The project investigates the city’s development from its Republican foundation to its early medieval decline, with excavation areas including the macellum, forum tabernae, domestic buildings, and industrial structures. Participants gain supervised experience in stratigraphic excavation, recording, and optional specialist work such as object analysis or environmental sampling.

The 2026 season runs in two sessions (1–12 June or 15–26 June), and a £1000 bursary covers accommodation, meals, local travel, and flights.

Deadline for applications is 28 February. Please inform Global Office if selected.
