Applications for a place on the semester 2 intake cohort of the Advance HE accredited St Andrews Recognition Scheme (STARS) will open at 9am on Mon 27 April; the deadline to apply is 9am on Mon 11 May (application form closes after this date). STARS provides participants with structured opportunities and support to reflect on their practice and prepare a claim for recognition against the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023) Descriptors D1 (Associate Fellow), D2 (Fellow), or D3 (Senior Fellow), as appropriate to their context.

The guidance and application link are available on the STARS webpage (application link visible from 27 April). If you’re interested, apply early; we will process applications in the order in which they are received. Places on the scheme are limited, so please don’t be disappointed if you don’t get in the first time. To join the scheme, you must be involved in teaching or supporting learning at St Andrews (this includes PGRs who teach).

There are two intakes on STARS each academic year – one at the start of semester 1, and another near the end of semester 2. The STARS cycle runs across two semesters; participants submit their completed fellowship form in week 6 of the semester after the one in which they joined. You must be working/studying at St Andrews for the duration of your time on STARS.

Anyone interested in applying for Senior Fellow must attend an “Are you ready for Senior Fellowship?” briefing or have a 1to1 with the STARS Scheme Lead (Book time with Heather McKiggan-Fee: STARS 1to1) before they apply.

Please email [email protected] if you have any questions. Let your professionalism in teaching shine through on STARS!
