We invite you to participate in a simple detection task, where you will be asked to respond, by pressing a button, to signals in two different senses (vision and audition). While you complete this task, we will record your brain activity to track the processing of each sensory signal. Recording of brainwaves involves wearing a cap that has sensors that are sensitive to the electrical activity given off by your brain. The goal of this research is to examine the relationship between brain responses, reaction times, and accuracy to better understand the neural mechanisms underlying multisensory decision making. This study is being conducted as part of our research in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews.

The experiment is conducted in one session which will last approximately two hours. Your participation will be reimbursed with £20.

To be eligible to participate, you must not have a diagnosis of photosensitive epilepsy or a history of migraines.

If you are interested, please get in contact using the details below. You will then be given a Participant Information Sheet that further details the research, and can ask questions, before being asked whether you consent to participate.

To apply for this study, please register on The University of St Andrews SONA Website and go to: https://st-andrews.sona-systems.com/default.aspx?p_return_experiment_id=1369
