Participants Wanted: Study on Mindfulness, Wellbeing, and Engagement

Rachel Gibson
Wednesday 1 March 2023

This study is being conducted as part of my, Rachel Gibson, PhD research study in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews.

We invite you to participate in a research project investigating the impact of a short 4-week mindfulness programme on wellbeing. You will be randomly assigned one of two types of mindfulness audio practices from the Oxford Mindfulness Centres Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy programme, led by Professor Mark Williams. The study will be online and any information you give will be accessed by only the researcher and research supervisor until fully anonymised.

You must be at least 18 years old to take part in this study and not experiencing any severe mental health issues such as depression or anxiety at present, as undertaking mindfulness could potentially cause you stress through practicing awareness of your thoughts and body sensations. You will be randomly allocated to one of two groups, one of which will be undertaking simple movement-based mindfulness exercises. If you have any concerns, please consultant your GP before signing up to the study.

If you are interested, please follow the link below. You will then be given a Participant Information Sheet that further details my research and have the opportunity to ask questions, before being asked whether you consent to participate.
