Rachel Gibson
Wednesday 10 May 2023

This study is being conducted as part of a PhD research study in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews.

We invite you to participate in a research project exploring different types of mindfulness practices and how people engage with them, as well as how they impact wellbeing. You will be asked to practice several mindfulness meditations over an eight-week period from the Palouse Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course. The study will be online and any information you give will be accessed by only the researcher and research supervisor until fully anonymised.

You must be at least 18 years old to take part in this study and not experiencing any severe mental health issues such as depression or anxiety at present, as undertaking mindfulness could potentially cause you stress through practising awareness of your thoughts and body sensations. If you have any concerns, please consultant your GP before signing up to the study.

If you are interested, please follow the link below. You will then be given a Participant Information Sheet that further details the research and have the opportunity to ask questions, before being asked whether you consent to participate.
