JSPS Invitational Fellowships for Research in Japan (25 April)
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) are offering Invitational Fellowships for Research in Japan. They are open to researchers in any field.
Short-term visits (14-60 days) are available for those who have a role equivalent to professor, associate professor or assistant professor, or have obtained a PhD at least 6 years prior. 160 grants are available. Researchers are expected to visit between October 2025 and March 2026.
Pre and postdoctoral standard visits (1-12 months or 12-24 months). Researchers are expected to start their visits between September and November 2025. 140 grants are available for researchers who have conducted research in the US, Canada, UK and Europe. 470 grants are available. Researchers should be scheduled to complete a PhD within the next 2 years, or have obtained a PhD in the past 6 years.
Both schemes offer a round-trip air ticket, stipend, overseas travel insurance and research support allowance. Applications are made via the host researcher in Japan. The deadline for applications is 25 April at 1700 (JST).
